TIA Portal (Central User Management)

TIA Portal (Central User Management)

Once we have the basic configuration of the UMC, we will proceed to configure our engineering station with TIA Portal.

We run TIA Administrator V3 (TIA Portal V20), from where we can manage several options, as you can see in the image, and the one we are interested in is Central User Management.

This is where we will configure the linkage between our UMC-SERVER and our engineering station.

The steps are as follows:

  • We enter the name of our server and click on "Validate".
  • After connecting to the server, we need to click on "Approve" the Server ID
  • We enter the username and password of the administrator user of UMC and confirm with "Connect"

If everything is correct, the message will indicate that it has connected successfully.

We can now create a project in TIA Portal and from Security settings -> Users and roles
We will connect to our server. Here we use the credentials of the administrator user.

If everything is correct, you will see the message indicating that it has connected and synchronized with the server successfully, and we can continue with the configuration.

Previously, on the UMC server, I created a couple of groups to carry out the tests.

From the TIA Portal project, if we click on "Add UMC groups", these are the ones we have created and imported into our project.
