Configuration of the Remote Device Linx Gateway Driver
In today's practice, we will configure the Remote Device Linx Gateway driver. The requirements are as follows: to have the Gateway version of RSLinx and for both devices to be in the same workgroup. We will use this driver to access devices on another PC that acts as a Gateway. Following the explanation, this involves accessing RSLogix Emulate 5000 from the PC where in the next practice there will be Factory Talk View Machine Edition simulating an HMI a Panel View Plus.

To activate the Gateway function, go to Communications -> Configure Gateway and enable the option Enable RSLinx Classic Gateway. In the Client Access List tab, add the IP of the device from which we will configure the Remote Device Linx Gateway driver.

In the next image, we can see RSLogix Emulate 5000 and the devices that are in the same workgroup, along with the IP of the device.

Now we go to the device where we will configure the Driver and where Factory Talk View Machine Edition is installed for the simulation of a Panel View. To do this, we add a new driver and choose the one we are interested in.

Let's assign a name of our choice, and in the next configuration window, we enter the IP address of the device where the driver we want to access is located, and we select it as can be seen.

If everything is correct, we can see that the driver is running and that we have access to our RSLogix Emulate 5000. Now we just need to configure a new topic for it; here you can see how to communicate Factory Talk View Machine Edition with RSLogix Emulate that we just configured (Image of the Topic is missing).
